KERATIN TREATMENTS

KERATIN TREATMENTS

What is Keratin?

Keratin is an advanced hair treatment that reduces frizz & curl. Our unique keratin process replenishes and smoothes the hair with the highest quality Keratin. The protein travels deep into the cuticle layer of the hair to repair existing damage and promote healing whilst protecting your hair from humidity and further damage. Results last from 2 to 4 months.

Who is Keratin for?

For anyone who regularly flat irons their hair, has hair that they find hard to control due to the amount of frizz and curl or hair that has been damaged. Because of the dramatic smoothing effects of Keratin, it greatly reduces styling time for most people leaving your hair healthier and shinier than ever before. Note- keratin is not designed to make the hair pin straight. Results may vary depending on hair history, hair type, texture, strength of curl and aftercare maintenance.

How often will I need to have it done?

Every 2-4 months depending on hair type, on the number of previous treatments and the condition of the hair to start with. The great thing is that you won't have to worry about damage from repeat treatments unlike other smoothing services that are available in today’s market. Because Keratin is a natural existing protein in our hair it is good for your hair so the more treatments over time the better it is for your hair! For stubborn, curly, thick hair it is safe to have keratin treatments once a month.

How do I care for my hair after Keratin?

Do not wash hair for 3 days (72 hours) from when you leave the salon. Iron your hair once a day over the next 72 hours.

Avoid getting any moisture in your hair for 3 days. If your hair does get wet during that time blow dry immediately and go over with flat irons as the keratin is still processing for those 72 hours. Same process when you shower, try to wear a shower cap. Wear hair down for the 72 hours, do not use pins, clips, ponytail and avoid putting your hair behind your ears as much as you can. Do not use any dry shampoo or styling products.

If necessary to wear hair pinned back for work pin back lightly with a thick hair tie (scrunchy) and flat iron at the end of the day.

Use our after care shampoo and conditioner as it's sulphate free but also contains keratin which means every time you wash you'll deposit more keratin into your hair, giving you longer, lasting results.

Give your hair a 7 day break in between colour and keratin (doesn't matter which you do first).

Take care when swimming in a pool or ocean, wet your hair with fresh water and apply conditioner to protect hair from salt or chlorine, after swimming we strongly suggest you wash your hair with after care shampoo and conditioner to eliminate salt or chlorine build up.

When can I colour my hair?

It is safe to colour or bleach your hair a week before or after the treatment but this will break some of the keratin bonds.

How much will my repeat treatment’s cost?

$199 to $299 depending on length and amount of hair (prices may vary depending on the amount of time and product use).

Can I have a keratin treatment during pregnancy?

We advise not to do a treatment during pregnancy. But ask your doctor first.
